This 260-page, hardbound, coffee table book on the life and work of Chesley Bonestellis co-authored by Ron Miller and Frederick C. Durant, III, with an Introduction by Sir Arthur C. Clarke. It offers a full-scale, definitive biography of the artist as well as more than 300 illustrations, 200 in full color, many of which have never before been reproduced.
Chesley Bonestell has been inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame  at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, Washington. The first illustrator to be inducted, Bonestell joins such science fiction luminaries as Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury and Robert A. Heinlein. The other 2005 inductees are Steven Spielberg, Philip K. Dick and Ray Harryhausen. The formal induction ceremony took place at the museum on May 6, 2005.
"The Hall of Fame honors the lives, works, and ongoing legacies of science fiction's greatest creators.

"The Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame was founded in 1996 bythe Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society (KCSFFS) inconjunction with the J. Wayne and Elsie M. Gunn Center for the Study ofScience Fiction at the University of Kansas. Created in 1971, theKCSFFS fosters interest in the literary forms known as science fictionand fantasy, and is one of the oldest science fiction clubs inmid-America.

"Each year since 1996, the Hall of Fame has inducted four individualson the basis of their continued excellence and long-time contributionto the science fiction field."
